life:

Researchers in panda costumes perform a physical exam on a 6-month-old panda cub at the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve Centre in China in February 2011. The cub, born to a captive panda mother, was the first captive-bred cub to be reintroduced to the wild. The researchers dressed as pandas so the cub wouldn’t begin to identify with humans.

I feel pretty. Oh so pretty.

We all have to go sometime.

AMERICA IN YEARS BEFORE WWII

These images, by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information, are some of the only color photographs taken of the effects of the Depression on America’s rural and small town populations. The photographs and captions are the property of the Library of Congress and were included in a 2006 exhibit Bound for Glory: America in Color.

I walked home from downtown last night, about 2 a.m., and the fog was so thick! This is a cool photo I got of Boise Depot.

I’m not too old for a birthday wishlist! Here are the deets:

  • What: Fujifilm Instax MINI 7s :: White Instant Film Camera
  • Where: Amazon
  • When: October 6th
  • Why: You are just as bummed as I am about the demise of Polaroid, and although Lady Gaga is working to bring the instant film classic back, you know that I need something for the mean time.

I love this photo by Paul Outerbridge from the 1950s. He was an early experimenter of color photography - he really pushed colors and tones. His photos are stunning.
